Vita

In 2012, Aaron Martin began his doctoral studies at Loyola University, in Chicago, IL. His dissertation examines the causes and consequences of party group switching in the European Parliament, and he is currently pursuing this research topic as the Laufer Doctoral Visiting Fellow under Prof. Dr. Klaus Goetz’s Political Systems and European Integration Chair at the Geschwister-Scholl-Institut for Political Science. From 2009 to 2010, Aaron was a visiting researcher at LMU’s Center for Applied Policy Research (CAP), where he wrote a working paper which analyzes the various ways in which politicians from different levels of government define the term subsidiarity. In 2009, he completed his MA in International Affairs at American University’s School of International Service, in Washington, DC, where his primary field of study was Comparative and Regional Studies (Europe) and his secondary field was Political Economy. His Master’s Thesis evaluates cross-border regionalism in France and Poland to determine whether or not recipients of EU Structural Funds are less likely to support Eurosceptic political parties. In 2007, he earned his BA in Political Economy from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.
