"Outstanding Delegation" for the LMU-Delegation at NMUN 2024
29.03.2024
At the 2024 National Model United Nations international competition, the Geschwister Scholl Institute (GSI) celebrated an extraordinarily successful participation: the LMU delegation, representing Mexico, received an Outstanding Delegation Award, the highest honor of the conference. This marks the 12th consecutive time the GSI has earned this prestigious distinction. In addition, the excellent preparation of the students was recognized in 2024 with six Position Paper Awards and three Outstanding Delegates in Committee Awards. With a total of 10 awards, the LMU delegation was the most successful German-speaking university and one of the most successful groups at the entire conference.
After ten months of intensive preparation, the academic Model UN conference in New York was the highlight of the joint project seminar. During this period, the delegates gained insights into the workings of the UN and acquired valuable experience.
The LMU Munich delegation is proud to have successfully continued the long-standing tradition of over 30 years of participation in the NMUN conference in New York. The NMUN project of the GSI is hosted by the Chair of International Relations (Prof. Dr. Rittberger) and is made possible thanks to the generous support of LMU, the department, the chair, the Laufer Foundation, the DGVN Bavaria, the DAAD, MUG, as well as donations and membership contributions.
