For his dissertation on the withdrawal of the United States from international institutions, Dr. Tim Heinkelmann-Wild is being honored with the German Thesis Award of the Körber Foundation. He received the second prize in the Social Sciences category, endowed with 10,000 euros.
In an essay based on his dissertation, Dr. Tim Heinkelmann-Wild highlighted important lessons for Germany’s and Europe’s response to Trump, drawn from the historically ambivalent relationship between the U.S. and multilateralism.
With the German Thesis Award, the Körber Foundation recognizes outstanding doctoral dissertations of particular social relevance. The award ceremony, hosted by the patron, President of the Bundestag Julia Klöckner, will take place in December 2025 at the German Parliamentary Society in Berlin.
