Decision on the Grading of Term Papers and Seminar Papers

22.01.2025

The Examination Board of the Geschwister-Scholl-Institute (GSI) for Political Science at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München decides that a term paper or seminar paper must fulfill the following criteria in all degree programs and module examinations of the GSI in order to be considered submitted, accepted and graded with at least 5.0:

- A subject is discussed that fits the content of the course.
- A content-related examination of the topic is recognisable.
- Relevant literature is processed and listed in the bibliography.
- 60% of the required number of signs are submitted.
- 50% of the required pages have been submitted.

Work that does not meet these minimum requirements will be assessed as ‘not submitted’.

The examination situation associated with the examination form of the written term paper or seminar paper differs from other examination situations such as written examinations or presentations. The regulations for the individual examination situations may therefore differ.

This regulation applies from the date of publication and will be applied for the first time from the winter semester 2024/25.
