About Me

I studied political science at LMU Munich (BA 2012, MA 2014) and the University of Ghana (MPhil 2015). My PhD-Thesis - a comparative study of retrospective voting in African democracies – was submitted in 2021, also at LMU. I am broadly interested in democratic institutions, political behaviour, and quantitative methods. A geographic focus is on sub-Saharan Africa. Africa’s democratisation since 1990, in conjunction with growing data availability, make the region a fascinating case to explore politics and reassess political theory. I also find it insightful to compare political developments and behaviour between established and emerging democracies. The transfer of theories, concepts, and findings often opens new perspectives.
