Yagnyashri Kodaru is a doctoral researcher in the Geschwister-Scholl Institute of Political Science at LMU. As part of the Making of National Security project, she is exploring the role of ideas and institutions in the transforming landscapes of national security governance and defense industrialization in the US, UK, France, and India. Her doctoral thesis focuses on how domestic beliefs about self-reliance have shaped varying outcomes of defense indigenization in major weapons systems in India. Yagnyashri has also taught the BA introductory seminar on International Relations in the winter semesters of 2024 and 2025. She holds a Master’s in International Affairs from the Hertie School, where she specialized in International Security.
