Financing
The question of how to finance your studies arises for all students in one way or another. Books, food, a room - it all costs money. However, studying at LMU is an investment in your education and your future that is well worth it. You have various options for financing your life in Munich and your studies.
Scholarships
A scholarship is not only an option for students with top grades. Whether it's a grant from foundation funds, the "Deutschlandstipendium" or money for books - there are numerous options at LMU.
Furthermore, LMU has also set up scholarships for international students. The StuWerk Scholarship Advisory Service will be happy to advise you on your options and help you with your scholarship application.
Working Student Jobs
Working student jobs are another way of financing your studies. Although working as a student will take up more time during your studies, you will also gain your first practical experience, which will set you apart from the competition on the job market afterwards.
Working student jobs must be limited to 20 hours per week. Although our degree courses are designed as full-time courses, with the right planning it is possible to combine work and study.
BAföG
Funding for your studies can also be secured through financial support from the Federal Training Act. The StuWerk General BAföG Counseling Service can advise you on general questions and help you fill out an application. If you need a certificate of achievement for a BAföG application, please contact the Examinations Office.
Student Loans
If financial support from other sources not sufficient, you can finance your studies through a student loan. The decision to take out a student loan should be carefully considered, as the loan must be repaid. The StuWerk Student Loan Advisory Service will help you with your decision and provide non-binding advice on various loan options.
