Curriculum Vitae

Felix Biermann ist seit Oktober 2019 als Post-Doc an den Lehrstühlen Internationale Beziehungen (Prof. Rittberger)/Global Governance (Prof. Zangl) des Geschwister-Scholl-Instituts für Politikwissenschaft tätig. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen auf der Europäischen Integration, der Institutionenforschung sowie der Sicherheits- und Verteidigungspolitik. Zuvor promovierte Felix Biermann von Februar 2016 bis September 2019 am Lehrstuhl Internationale Beziehungen mit dem Thema, „Power, Preferences, and Complexity – Explaining Institutional Order in the European Security and Defense Complex”. Durch Arbeiten zur Eurokrise und der sogenannten Flüchtlingskrise sowie zur „Eurocracy“ und im Bereich der Cybersicherheit, versucht Biermann eine breite Perspektive auf die Integrationsforschung zu entwickeln.

Biermann studierte an den Universitäten Bayreuth und Siena zunächst Philosophy & Economics (2007-2011), dann im Masterstudiengang Public Policy an der Willy Brandt School of Public Policy der Universität Erfurt (2011-2013). Anschließend war er bis Anfang 2016 als Unternehmensberater im Öffentlichen Sektor tätig.
