What is a written Assignment?
A written assignment is classified as a subject-related thesis, essay, working paper or Bachelor's thesis, or other written examination in English, which has already been submitted during your Bachelor's degree programme. It must be approximately 15,000 words long (including spaces) and have already been assessed as passed.
The purpose of this written assignment is to assess whether, in addition to the competencies acquired during your first academic degree program, you possess the aptitude necessary to meet the specific demands of our master’s degree program.
These demands include the ability to conduct problem-oriented analysis, to think both abstractly and concretely, and to adapt established approaches to new research questions within the three core areas of the program. The master’s degree program also requires knowledge of empirical political research methods, the ability to engage in research-oriented and scholarly work, and adequate proficiency in the English language.
What does applying to the International Office entail?
The application to the International Office is only necessary after you have already been accepted for the Master's Degree by our Institute. Applying through the International Office is more of a formality for international students. The International Office does not have its own admission requirements and is not part of our selection committee.
Can I apply if I have not yet completed my Bachelor's degree at the time of application?
All applications will be considered as long as the admission requirements are fulfilled and the Bachelor's degree is successfully completed by the time of enrollment. Provisional acceptance is subject to reservation and becomes invalid if the Bachelor's degree is not passed.
When can I expect to receive a response?
Applicants will be informed about the evaluation of their application via e-mail by May 31. If you have not received a response by June 1, please contact us.
