National Model United Nations

The National Model United Nations (NMUN) is the most important academic simulation of the United Nations. It takes place annually in New York, in close cooperation with the United Nations and partly in its meeting rooms. Over 3,600 selected students from more than 240 American and Canadian, but also European and Asian universities participate, making NMUN also a forum for universities from all parts of the world.

The goal of the simulation is to promote understanding of international relations and their functioning through the "simulated" exercise of multinational diplomacy. The structure, topics and procedures of the NMUN committees are designed to be as realistic as possible, so that the practice of interest articulation and negotiation can be understood and actively "experienced" from the inside.
