"Political Competence, Political Trust, and Political Behavior of University Students: German experience"

Ms. PhD Daria Pinaeva, 33 years old, has been Associate Professor of Kazan National Research Technical University Named after A.N. Tupolev – KAI since 2009. She will be a visiting scholar from october till december 2015.

Her current research is "Political Competence, Political Trust, and Political Behavior of University Students: German experience". The research is devoted to the study of different levels of political competence (cognitive, experience and reflective) and examines the interrelationship between the level of political competence and such variables as political trust and political activities of University students. It will be carried out at the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Science, Ludwig-Maximilians-University (research adviser – Prof., Dr. Petra Stykow). Her research stay is funded by German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Funding program is "Research stays for University Academics and Scientists".

Her research interests are devoted to different aspects of political participation, relationships between State power and Society, Political behavior and political activity of Youth, Political enlightenment of Youth, Organization of Dissemination of Scientific knowledge in USSR and Contemporary Russia. Furthermore, she carries out another scientific project that deals with "Organization of Dissemination of Scientific knowledge and Enlightenment activities in the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in the second half of the XX century", which is financed by Russian Foundation for Humanities (RFH) and Government of Republic of Tatarstan.

Ms Pinaeva holds a PhD in History. She wrote her thesis on  "Work and life of the collective farmers in the Volga region in the second half of the 20th century" (2008). At her home university she teaches disciplines such as Russian History, History of the foreign relationships of Russia, Contemporary Social and Political problems of Russia, History of Parliamentarism in Russia and Culturology.
