Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - Postdoctoral Fellowships

LMU Munich: Call for Expressions of Interest in Marie-Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2023 Call

10.03.2023

With the aim of promoting and allowing young and talented postdoc researchers from around the world to enhance their career opportunities, the LMU Munich invites expressions of interest from researchers interested in joining us through a prestigious fellowship program of the EU Framework Program Horizon Europe. As one of Europe’s leading research universities, the LMU enjoys an outstanding reputation and has an excellent track record in grant-winning, including Marie Curie Fellowships. Its Geschwister Scholl Institute of Political Science is among Germany’s biggest research institutions dedicated to political science and offers a stimulating environment for both research and study.

We are welcoming scholars particularly interested in the temporality of politics or public policy in European and non-European settings to join the Chair of Political Systems and European Integration in its new ERC project SYNCPOL – Synchronized Politics: Multiple Times and Political Power. We will offer support and guidance to the applicants accepted by the supervisors and work with them to complete a full application (deadline September 13, 2023).

About the Scheme

The Marie-Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) build on a two-way transfer of knowledge between postdoc and supervisor. By combining an excellent project that addresses a challenging and timely research question, both parties work in close collaboration. Supervisors provide training-through-research by developing an individual project and a targeted training programme with the postdoc. The postdoc (fellow) is expected to transfer knowledge and skills with contributions to the ongoing research at the host institution.

European Postdoctoral Fellowships provide funding for bottom-up projects of 12 to 24 months. The fellowships entail a living allowance, mobility allowance and, if applicable, a family allowance. Additionally, funding is provided for research, training and networking activities.

Who can apply?

Only expressions of interest that meet the eligibility criteria of the scheme will be considered. Researchers interest in applying:

  • must have a completed PhD at the time of the deadline for applications
  • must have a maximum of 8 years of research experience since their doctoral graduation (years of experience spent outside of research and career breaks will not count)
  • must not have resided or worked in Germany for more than 12 months during the 36 months prior to the call deadline

Please send all application documents digitally in a PDF file to Klaus.Goetz@gsi.lmu.de by April 30, 2023. Early expressions of interest are encouraged.
